Tabletop Tendencies is Richmond, Virginia based commission miniature painter.
Secret or loud and proud painter/gamer?
Loud and proud. Gaming/painting is a big part of my life. I paint daily and try to game 2-3 times a week.
What age did you get into painting and what started it off?
I discovered 40k in 2005 and have been painting ever since. A coworker introduced me to a shop that sold magic cards so I went to check it out. They had a table set up for 40k and I fell in love with it.
What was the first model you ever painted?
Probably an Iron Hands tactical squad.
What is your favourite brush/paint brand?
I use cheap brushes from Walmart or a specific 18/0 Round from Master’s Touch.
What are you working on right now?
Commission wise, some old school Praetorian Guard. For myself, I’m working on a Steel Legion themed Ork army.
What model would you love to paint that you haven’t done yet? What models do you really enjoy painting?
I really want to get my hands on a Magnus. I’m a Thousand Sons fan and as we all know, he did nothing wrong. I really enjoy painting Orks and their vehicles.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
What other creative outlets do you use (music, canvas, art, etc)?
Usually, when I’m painting, I’m listening to Classic Rock or something on Amazon/Netflix.
What is your favourite convention or event? What event would you like to go to?
My LGS holds tournaments monthly. I enjoy going to them. I would like to try more competitive play and attend NOVA or LVO.
